Motto time: game hard, queue fast, be kind to each other.
So apparently in Metroid Prime 4 the motorcycle desert section is by design supposed to feel isolating and eerie hence the lack of music.

You can unlock a "radio" or "jukebox" for those sections that plays other tracks from the game by beating the game/using the amiibo. It's a bonus.

Other than a newfound anxiety surrounding CPU and GPU temps, the switch to PC has been absolutely worth it.

Capitalism worked when companies used to invest and compete to make better products that people in turn would really want to buy. Value for the consumer.

Now it's all about making the cheapest product possible with the cheapest pipeline that will still sell. Value for the company/share holders.

The only downside to choosing to send out a bunch of sincere messages to people that you're grateful for early on Thanksgiving Day is having to reply later on once they've been read.

I've already slipped into antisocial mode, my lovelies. We'll catch up after Black Friday.

We're watching Stranger Things S5 and taking a shot every time a random character dies, two shots every time a secondary character dies, and three shots every time a main character dies.

Working my way through episode 3 and I don't think my liver survives this season guys ...

Anyone else getting a massive influx of scam calls recently? I got 4 obvious scam voicemails just this morning. -sigh-

The people who do this are garbage along with scalpers and rage bait content creators.

All low effort no morality bullshittery.

For @aftermath.site, I spoke to @imodrew.bsky.social, the Sucker Punch dev fired after making a Charlie Kirk joke.

She paints a picture of an industry that all too often ignores bad actors until those bad actors threaten them financially.

Wicked For Good definitely feels padded but that was always going to happen having Act 2 be its own movie.

It's darker, sadder, and a bit more disjointed but it sticks the landing. Walked out appreciating my friendships and what they mean to me.

I really like this adaptation.

Not to throw shade at Shroud but he also did say that "multiplayer games need a win" about an industry dominated by live service and multiplayer games ...

Also, it's not that the world isn't ready for AI it's that no one who respects games as an art form respects generative AI.

There is no middle ground in discourse between AI tools (the middleware mentioned) and generative AI because they're two different things!

AI tools are there to help streamline and speed up the dev process, generative AI is there to replace devs. There is no middle ground here imo.
"Surely there's a middle ground here?" The CEO of Helldivers 2 studio Arrowhead says people "jump to extreme takes" when debating generative AI, and that there needs to be more nuance in the discussion.

With how people currently feel about Microsoft (aka the future of Xbox) and even to an extent Sony, this might actually be the perfect time for Steam to strike and try to convert some console players to their PC ecosystem.

IF it's powerful enough, easy to use, and hits the right price point. 👍
Valve is making a console. The Steam Machine, a sleek box with the guts of a mid-range PC that runs SteamOS, will arrive in early 2026. Prices TBD, but unlike the failed Steam Machine initiative from a decade ago, this is Valve's own device. Big news www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
