I usually swim laps at lunchtime, when I enjoy the warmth of the sun on my skin and the shimmer of sunlight on everything below the water's surface ✨

But swimming in the evening isn't bad either - the glow of the pool and festive lights outside the fitness club are pretty too ☺️

In celebration of autumn 🍂 Pumpkin Ale is What's Cooking (Brewing) here 🍽️🍺 This amber ale began by steeping pumpkin puree with malt to convert pumpkin starches into fermentable sugars 🎃🫧, and finished with a bit of pumpkin pie spices 🥧😋

Another rainy lunchtime lap swim here 🏊🌧️

Not a problem, though. This outdoor pool is heated (look close and you might see steam rising from the water). And the feeling and sound of raindrops keeps it interesting 😁

Some of my favorite moments while swimming are the few seconds each time I push off the wall for backstroke. Looking to the sky from underwater, light bending and dancing through the moving surface - it always seems magical 🏊🌤️🌊✨☺️

Being able to swim outdoors year-round is really cool 😎

The pool where I swim has a vestibule with stairs to allow entry into the pool without being fully exposed to cold or rainy weather on the deck.

Cedar plank salmon is one of my favorite things to cook on the grill 🐟♨️☺️ and grilling seems to intensify the flavor of these lemon slices too 🍋😋
