It's me! You know me. Or you can if you want.
Art coming out of the Cold War era vs... Well, whatever the fuck it is we're living through right now.

This isn't a completely formed thought yet, but I've said elsewhere

I find it Intersting that in the TNG era, Starfleet had the most trouble dealing with enemies that were highly organized (Borgs, Romulans, etc...) but now, their adversaries are Chaos and unpredictability.

As a cis white guy, I find it's always incredibly welcome when I comment on people's appearances during normal daily interactions. It makes me feel good about myself to know I've noticed and complimented them.

Holy crap, I haven't thought about that song or the band in ages. Thank you for my Friday listen.

That's a good wicked observation!

I've mused that Omega Mart and other MeowWolf properties feel like a classic adventure or Double Fine game come to life.

Y'all should collaborate. I'd be first in line.

Helicopter parenting has entered the film industry!

John Landis doesn't count. Sorry.

Ha! He's a bright kid and his dad is a big astro nerd. Your language is plain and friendly enough that I'm confident he absorbs a great deal of it.

Paraphrasing, but he's essentially told me that since The Universe itself could get you any time, it makes the day to day stuff less scary. So proud.

Consider this another supportive and complimentary message!

I've followed you since the movie review days. You've taught me so much & are one of my favorite science communicators.

Now I can even share you with my 7yo. We've been taking turns reading Death from the Skies! to each other lately.

That shadow of (what I assume is Io) spectacular in that image.

That would mean that Jupiter is experiencing an eclipse on that path, right?

I thought Seattle Freeze was a sex poop thing and I appreciate you correcting my assumption.

Yup, you got it right the first time.

"Nashville Bachelorette Party" is the name of my Arrested Development cover band.

But me? I never cared before, but somehow I'm always excited when garbage trucks come by now.

How did that happen?
February 1, 2026 at 12:45 AM
Agree, but careful. It may be fleeting.

When mine was a toddler, garbage trucks were coolest. Walking to school on trash day, he'd get so excited. We'd stop and watch. So fun!

Driving, we'd always get excited seeing one.

Now, he's 7. Garbage trucks are OK and all, but not exciting like before.

So, to paraphrase, "Work will make you free."

I'm forgetting where I've heard that before.
January 31, 2026 at 6:49 PM
Thanks for saying it again. I have trouble understanding how any reasonable person that DOES want this result wouldn't embrace the proven facts on how to encourage those outcomes.

Obviously the real answer is they don't care and, as you said, it's about control. No other explanation.

I will play no matter what, but my fingers are crossed for at least ONE Patrick Swayze joke. Doesn't even have to be a good one.

You're almost always using too much! Not a health thing, just a "taste your food" thing.
January 26, 2026 at 9:54 PM
Well that's certainly... A thing.

Happy anniversary y'all! Here's to another 10.
January 26, 2026 at 9:30 PM
Good luck with the launch!

I'm looking forward to it!
January 26, 2026 at 7:00 AM
No tasting the rainbow for you.

Unless...

This is all being done so they can devote resources to completing Beyond Good and Evil 2, correct?
