Douthat blames "bureaucratic inertia, political correctness and increasingly a kind of dropping-out encouraged by drugs and very-online life"

-- showing he has no idea what Vivek is talking about or is only interested in throwing up a smoke screen

It is a sight to behold

killing reforms to bring down drugs prices, and
eliminating the caps on investment in China

Elon's prioirities are so painfully clear: protecting his corporate buddies

Clyburn weighing in. All Dem politicians shld get loud about this

Another advantage of not fighing everything is that it reduces the potential for WWE wrestling excitement that Trump likes to whip up among his supporters by instigating fights with Dems

This may be part of why many Dem politicians are staying relatively quiet. ... Let the voters see what they actually voted for. ... let the story be the Elon and Trump show?
December 18, 2024 at 9:30 PM
Is Dems resisting everry action & making their obstructionism the story, the best approach,

or is Dems strategically choosing battles (social security, medicare, Obamacare, etc.) a better idea given these circumstances?

I'M NOT SURE, but a strategy of holding back & letting them fail cld work too

Let me play devil's advocate

1. GOP has an unworkable pieced together coalition. Elon-DOGE branch and raw populist (tariffs, isolationist) JD Vance branch won't get along

2. GOP has very small majority in House (220-214) and Senate (53-47) this will lead to internecine battles

...

It is out in the open now

It's ugly, but it also provides an opening for Dems

Elon spending $225 M on the election, his flaunting his use of $ to buy control of gov't - provides opport'y for Dem's to make - taking out corrupt influence of money in politics - into a battle cry
December 18, 2024 at 8:16 PM
Also notable in Ezra Klein & Adam Jentleson's description of issue is that it's not just that politicians are deferring to will of Dem policy orgs,

but also that org's are often no longer acc'ly representing the priorities of constituencies whom they were assumed to be speaking for

He's saying he dated several of these women for years, and it's obvious the truth will come out that he paid for sex with several girls for years. Ugh
