Is it not a bit spooky that the new US Stargate Project shares its name with the CIA's former remote viewing program? GIven Oracle's Ellison's previous comments about pervasive AI surveillance, are we really to assume that the two projects are actually unrelated? Or different means to the same end?

I just stupidly complained about the elevenlabs dub of Zelenskyy's interview with Lex Fridman on LinkedIn, forgetting that that is not what that place is for 😅

Anyway, not much to say except that - putting politics to the side - I found the interview exhausting to listen to.

In the case of artificial super intelligence (or even AGI), I'm a bit lost on the benefit of learning a trade now. Trades are great, no question. But who's going to pay for it post super intelligence? People on UBI? And what are those people going to do all day? Learn trades, I guess.

I absolutely admire vets, but am so fed up with the gatekeeping of veterinary drugs. My cat was diagnosed with mycoplasma and prescribed several weeks of doxycycline. After treatment finished, she had a relapse. This is apparently common. I restarted treatment, but need more doxy.
