Arabische landen hebben sinds 1948 actief tegen Israël gevochten, met recent geweld uit Gaza. Alleen Egypte, Jordanië en de PLO erkennen Israël. Sinds de oprichting van de Arabische Liga in 1945 is er een boycot van Israël door andere Arabische landen.

Laten we bij mijn commentaar blijven. Bovendien is zionisme niets anders dan de verlangens naar een eigen land, wat in onze taal patriotisme wordt genoemd. Het is geen ideologie. Het zijn degenen die de oprichting van Palestina willen afdwingen die zionisme tot een ideologie vervormen.

Ik heb die magere lap tekst gelezen. Ramsey Nasr plaatst zijn eigen volk op een voetstuk, maar weigerde tegelijkertijd de Joden en het zionisme als mensen te zien en te begrijpen. Dit diskwalificeert hem als intellectueel en reduceert hem tot het niveau van een ideoloog.
