🚨 Gaza’s Health Ministry warns of a “slow-motion mass death” driven by Israel’s medical siege. Since the ceasefire, more than 400 people have been killed, but far more are dying from blocked medicine and collapsed care, the Director General says. Only 10% of needed medical supplies have entered Gaza since the ceasefire began. Over 80,000 diabetes patients and 105,000 people with hypertension face lethal complications as life-saving services like cardiac catheterization stop. 4,000 glaucoma patients risk permanent blindness. 7,000 orthopedic patients face infection or amputation as 99% of bone surgeries are halted. Dialysis fluids, cancer drugs, IVIG, erythropoietin, and also children’s painkillers are largely unavailable. The crisis is reshaping an entire generation: 52% of NICU admissions are premature babies, up from 20% before the war. 323,000 children under five are at risk of malnutrition. 40,000 displaced pregnant women lack basic care. Congenital deformities are rising, with 128 cases recorded, which the ministry says reflects systematic harm to maternal and child health. On medical evacuation, nearly 20,000 patients are registered to travel for treatment, including 4,300 children. The World Health Organization has approved 18,500 cases, with 3,788 classified as extremely critical. But Israel is still continuing to block almost all evacuations. Since crossings were effectively closed in May 2024, 1,156 patients have died waiting to leave.
