Late-night earthquake casualties. We will rebuild.
A water spray bottle, a pen and a bottle of hand sanitizer lie on the hardwood floor and beneath an upright base after falling off of a bookshelf. A painting of a jug in a wooden frame lies on a multicolored rug. A small wire bicycle lies on the hardwood floor.

I literally fell asleep earlier thinking about my earthquake kit 👀

No wonder it was scary, it was two miles from my house.

Yeah, that’s too close to home!
jachristian.bsky.social
That was probably the strongest earthquake I’ve ever experienced.

Thank you!!! I haven’t been confident enough to start up the scanner but maybe today’s the day.

Amazing. Couldn't resist inverting it. #BelieveInFilm
"A medium-format negative film slide with depicting a bearded magician and a woman hovering in mid air through a hoop" -- the image from Jessica Christian has been inverted to produce a B&W positive image. The figures look like dolls.

Our current archivist is working on a project about just that!

Been working in the @sfchronicle.com archives until my wrist gets stronger and I’ve found the most incredible things, most that haven’t seen the light of day in almost one hundred years. This one is from the 1939 World’s Fair on Treasure Island.

It’s been five years since we woke up to apocalyptic orange skies and everyone stopped for a moment and stared at the sky. Five years since @barackobama.bsky.social shared my @sfchronicle.com photos of that day, a fun fact that will follow me forever.
A dark orange haze hangs over the skyline of San Francisco. A man wearing a mask looks up at the sky as a dark orange haze hangs over the Bay Bridge in San Francisco. A motorcyclist pulls over on a road on Treasure Island to take a photo of the orange sky above the San Francisco Bay.

Crow show in the front yard this evening.

Still on leave, still only able to sit back and watch as my garden grows wild. It’s not so much a garden this year as it is an ecosystem.
bushy green bean plants grow up the side of the house surrounded by other plants like cucumber, basil, tomato, and peppers. Green bean plant strangles a dying tomato plant with black beauty tomatoes hanging off the vine. A grasshopper covered in dew drops sits on a Serrano plant.

This is insane, I love it. That lens definitely costs more than $500, though.
