It is why programmes like our Government's VALOUR scheme, which is improving how veterans access support across the country, are so important, especially here in the East of England.

We should all be inspired and proud of Ivan, but I also know that warm words and thanks are not enough.

There must be lasting and permanent change so this will never happen again.

It will mean more patrols, quicker action against offenders and real support for local shops will make a big difference here.

Everyone should feel safe when they shop or go out, and I am proud to back a Government that is ending years of neglect and putting towns like Ipswich first.

I pay tribute to Ivan who, despite the immense challenges he has to live with, has campaigned tirelessly.

His courage and determination seeks to ensure his personal tragedy is never repeated, so others do not have to suffer as he has.

I am sure our Government's announcement will come as a relief to people who have had to fork out more and more to travel by rail, but will now be able to keep a little more money in their pockets.

It is a really welcome boost just before Christmas.

I will take your feedback to Ipswich Borough Council and it will used to help guide how this investment is delivered.

This is our town and our chance to shape its future.

Together, we can restore pride in Ipswich and create a town centre that is safe, vibrant, and thriving once again.

I also took my job of promoting the new report 'Grassroots Growth' very seriously.

It has got a fantastic array of contributors and talks about how local ownership, co-operation, and empowerment can drive sustainable growth.
