How the "One Big, Beautiful Bill" Targets Medicare and Medicaid
Congress just passed the biggest overhaul to America’s healthcare safety net in decades. The “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” cleared the House on July 3, 2025, by a razor-thin margin of 218-214 votes, fo...

... and just say, fine. You want to drink the bleach so badly?

Drink the bleach. Be happy. If that's what you really fucking want.

We fucking warned you. And we'll always fight for a world without bleach drinking.

But maybe, *just maybe*, that fight will be easier without you in it. 20/20

So, I'm seriously asking: how long am I supposed to hold empathy for these people? Ten years of trying to calmly explain why not cutting millions off Medicaid - including THEM - hasn't worked. Another ten isn't going to work either.

Because it's getting more tempting to throw up my hands... 18/🧵

... where they get their information from. Hey, maybe *don't* trust Alex Jones, or Joel Osteen, or Donald F. Trump with our healthcare? Not only because A. they're not even BAD doctors, they're not medical professionals of any kind, but also because B. they are sociopathic con-artists? 17/🧵

... diabetic shock, and dying of preventable diseases, and taking ivermectin for their cancer (literally. Not a joke) am I supposed to give a fuck?

They told me to go to school so I could take on 10s of 1000s in debt to get a degree, and then mock me for my education, even though I question... 16/🧵

It's been the Sacred Democratic (Party) Prophecy for over a quarter century now: once the old fucks die off, their conservatism will die with them and we can have a progressive society.

Obviously, that's not happening any time soon. For a lot of reasons.

But now that they're going into... 15/🧵

And imagine if she didn't even have *me* for that? What kind of dystopic hellscape do these people insist we have? Are they satisfied when the coal companies tear up our land, poison our water, fill our air with lead?

Are they going to be satisfied when America is cleansed of Latinos? 14/🧵

She needs a test, she gets it instantly. She needs care or medication. BAM Doctor Sister gets it for her. If my sister wasn't around, and my grandmother was with my dumb squeamish ass, I'd be running up to Toronto to buy drugs from a guy in a Blue Jays jersey named Steve because idk any better. 13/🧵
July 7, 2025 at 3:56 PM
No. Seriously. How am I supposed to care?

I *do*. My grandmother is currently battling cancer, and I am *very* aware and grateful that the conditions she has it in are not the conditions that most people in America get cancer in:

She's 90, frail. She lives with my sister: a literal doctor. 12/🧵

... that they're willing to let the world burn?

Then they find out that ivermectin doesn't work on infectious diseases. They discover that without Medicaid, insulin is $500 a bottle. They find out that the regulations that keeps bleach child-proofed are one of the ones their God-King cut. 11/🧵

Meanwhile, they're committing suicide by vote, and cheering on stochastic terrorism and literal genocide.

How long can *anyone* hold their empathy for these stupid fucks? So determined to drink the fucking bleach, so determined to not care about anyone who isn't within their line of sight... 10/🧵

... it tests the absolute limits of my empathy. They vote for a literal con artist who is endorsed and funded by people who benefit off of an unhealthy America, off of a sick population who will *never* learn their lesson to stop giving them their goddamned money and vote. 9/🧵

But we all know the reality: if enough children drink the bleach, then it makes it easier to take the bleach away from the few who are left to demand they drink it.

I don't want anyone to drink bleach. I want everyone to have healthcare.

But for those who are so insistent on not having it. 8/🧵
July 7, 2025 at 3:46 PM
Am I supposed to continue having empathy for these people? When does "supposed" enter the equation?

Because I'm never going to *not* argue against non-privatized healthcare. I'm never going to vote against it. I'm always going to be trying to keep the bleach out of the hands of the children. 7/🧵
