Dated Keith Olbermann when young, I guess he's a rite of passage?

Easy to get out of if you know how to drive in snow.

It fell everywhere. I was living there when it was still high, and his response was abysmal. Trump wants to take credit, saying it's because he brought people in to clean it up, and I'm pretty sure that's also not the case. 🙄

Don't live there any more. But enjoy.

They are down historically across the country. Maybe it's due to Trump. Who knows?

I voted for him. I ended up hating him. So did everyone I know. Maybe the school board that elected him still likes him. No idea

Do you live there? There's many ways to address crime. Even if people need more jobs, someone is still criming. That person is not a good person
January 1, 2026 at 9:28 PM
Well, he didn't even try. Everytime something visible happened, he was like, we need to bring more jobs. He didn't even bring the jobs! And there have been numerous instances when crime has been brought down. He was also, very, very arrogant.

They all ran into issues because they refused to govern for all the people. Ramn - corporatist, pissed of the teachers. Lightfoot - good start but pissed of the lakefront (and eventually everyone) due to COVID policies. Brandon - excused crime. Sure, people need jobs. They also need not to be shot.

That was the election before, but yes
January 1, 2026 at 9:11 PM
You also need to address, instead of excuse, current crime. Sorry I voted for him, was very disappointed. He seemed to have one constituency, and you can't run the city like that, as
others (lightfoot, Emmanuel) have learned.
January 1, 2026 at 9:09 PM
He's also not very competent. He's arrogant and didn't bother to build coalitions. He alienated large parts of the city by refusing to consider that crime needed to be addressed. I voted for him, not sure I would ever have gone for Vallas, but hated him (I'm not there now)

I don't think it's anywhere near enough :)

Yes, but even more obviously incapacitated.

And he was generally awful. Had ICE not come in, he'd be a dead man walking. Probably still is.

It's not verified. That's what legitimate organizations do, wait until the information is verified. I want him to be guilty as much as the next person, if that person isn't raging MAGA, but who knows what of this is real.

I mean, the difference between heating your WHOLE house and an evening fire in the fireplace seem like two very different things.

Kinda weird no one was able to find this out before 2025. Like 2015 might have been a better year for this investigation.

The antisemitism there has been horrific since 10/7. It's been bad everywhere else as well, but particular uptick there (we have good friends, Holocaust survivors, that moved back there from the US).

Not confirmed, but sounds like their son. Perhaps he struggled with mental illness.
