Fast-forward 20 years. I’m at a job interview and get asked what kind of animal I would be. I say a cheetah because I’m fast off the mark in a case but stick with it till the end. I got the job.

My dad convinced me that cheetahs were actually a hybrid between cats and dogs because like cats, they are fast off the mark, but like dogs, can keep up a prolonged chase. I proudly announced this nugget at lunch with colleagues when I was 35 and was just about laughed out of the restaurant.

My husband leaving 23 yrs ago. It terrified me. I’d quit my job 6 months earlier, to stay home with our 2 young boys.
A year later I happily went back to that job. A year after that, I met my 2nd husband. FF 19 years, happy Brady Bunch, grandkids, wonderful friendships and strong self-esteem.
