This is the basic problem. Microsoft, Tesco, Netflix, BP, Deliveroo etc. etc. for infinity: they freeze wages, sack people, jack up prices. The system only works one way: up for shareholders, down for everyone else. I’m starting to worry the solution isn’t authoritarianism, racism and transphobia.

If Gene Roddenberry was still alive and running Star Trek, I guarantee we'd be getting thinly veiled allegories about anti-vaccine bullshit or xenophobia. It would not be subtle. It would hit reasonably hard. People would complain endlessly that Star Trek had gotten too progressive.

I've created this to help.

A spectrum labeled “bucket → not bucket,” with various items placed along the line based on how buckety they are. Far left are metal containers with handles, resembling traditional buckets. Two absolute deffo buckets, a pitchery-bucket and a more ambiguous bucket. To the far right, beds. Beds aren't buckets. Beside the beds, bags, which are a bit more like a bucket than a bed.

the alley context makes it seem like a bin, and its v. low res, but I still think its a smallish bucket shot from a low angle. handle is behind but the hinges are visible on the left and right. annoyingly it refreshed completely so we’ll never know. could be one of the beds is a bucket.

this bit is unreal. 465 pages and 88 recommendations to solve water companies “acting in the private interest” come on mate.

Cunliffe defends the length of his 465-page report, and says it is necessary to grapple with what he calls our Great Stink moment.

He says some water companies have acted in the private interest, rather than the public interest and warns that "no one single reform" of the 88 he has put forward will fix the system alone, no matter how radical.
