You are a serious public intellectual with opinions supported by fact and logic and elegantly expressed. Of course you are threatening to them. That’s success.

Sorry you have to endure the piling-on over at that other app. Think of it as culling the herd. The thought that Mrs. Parker wouldn’t be out protesting today is silly. In a universe populated with Bobergs and MTGs picking on an historic Black Representative is very telling.

I just watched the movie where Clooney played Fred Friendly. I thought that was great. I didn’t come close to the recording of the stage play.

So what does a block list do and why would one care and how do you find out about it? Is it preventing people from giving me money?

Hi Ellen, I finished Joy Ride this afternoon and did enjoy it. I’m sure it will do really well. With any luck, you’re just recovering from an enormous celebration.

Take MyHusband may be my second favorite (after DPDH) of your books. Not finished yet but it evokes Kate Chopin’s “The Story of an Hour” for me.

I yield to no one in a basic self absorption, but nothing has so consistently awakened me night after night in fear for the future of my lovely grandchildren.

I bought my sister Colm Toibin’s “Long Island” for her birthday. How big a mistake did I make?

White’s letter is written in about the darkest days of Watergate when it looked like Nixon would get away with it. Two weeks later McCord sends his letter to Judge Sirica about perjury in his trial which busted it open. Maybe we will have a similar breakthrough—soon.
