The Bari Weiss “let’s do the fucking news” thing is so funny because it confirms that she thinks she’s in a Sorkin show just like all her nemeses

"I am exhausted. We are exhausted. If fatigue can be worn, we are all wearing threadbare shirts. We long for the Gaza we once knew, for the lives we once lived, and for the selves we once were."

I’ve Endured Two Years of Genocide. But I’m Still Here.
The world before October 7, 2023, is a distant memory. But we carry on, fueled by the determination that this land will become a place of life once more.

Palestinians stand atop the rubble of their lives and show the rest of us what courage means. We owe them everything.

Me for @discourseblog.com on two years of genocide.

Fadi has a new fundraiser but he’s been trying to raise on it for a bit with no success- I told him the best way was to post lots of photos and videos but it also helps if people follow him so if you can’t donate maybe give a follow ❤️

I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Fadi. Fadi is 19 years old and wants to go to school to be a software engineer. Instead of studying he has just been trying to survive after his family has been displaced many times. He has a new fundraiser to help him accomplish his goal.

“Fuck them kids.”

That’s literally what an ICE agent said when ICE, the FBI et al. raided an apartment in Chicago, including with a Blackhawk helicopter, separated children from their parents, and zip-tied them to each other.

abc7chicago.com/post/ice-chi...
bangs.

"They was terrified. The kids was crying. People was screaming. They looked very distraught. I was out there crying when I seen the little girl come around the corner, because they was bringing the kids down, too, had them zip tied to each other," Watson said. "That's all I kept asking. What is the morality? Where's the human? One of them literally laughed. He was standing right here. He said, 'f*** them kids.'"

Watson said trucks and military-style vans were used to separate parents from their children. Other neighbors said agents destroyed property to get in the building.

"They had a big, 15-inch chainsaw with round blade on it, cutting this fence down," said witness Darrell Ballard. "We're under siege. We're being invaded by our own military."

Bari Weiss is set to be named the editor in chief of CBS News, the New York Post reports
Paramount Skydance is poised to name Bari Weiss as editor in chief of CBS News in the coming days — giving the hard-charging journalist unusual clout to revamp the struggling network as it also acquires her scrappy news site the Free Press, The Post has learned.

Weiss — a 41-year-old former New York Times opinion writer who has built the Free Press into a buzzworthy site with a contrarian bent — is expected to be named to the top post in a Monday announcement, although the talks are in flux and the timing could change, a source close to the situation said.

yeah tbf i'd never get over that either

imagine turning to jews after the holocaust and saying "you're the ones who have to be deradicalized now." that's what the nyt is doing here.
ayoub.bsky.social
I struggle to think of an editorial board that's been more overtly racist and genocidal that the NY Times one.

This is on the level of Putinist bullshit about denazifying Ukraine.
NYT editorial board calls for deradicalizing the surviving Palestinians in Gaza The multinational authority should have an ambitious agenda. It would span the restoration of basic services, the feeding of the population, the reconstruction of neighborhoods and the creation of a police force. Crucially, as experts at the Wilson Center in Washington have argued, this authority should create a program in schools, the media and elsewhere "to remove Hamas's pervasive radicalizing influence over Gazan society." Another task would be disarming any Hamas fighters who keep fighting. Qatar, given its longtime relationship with Hamas, can help pressure the group, much as the United States can pressure Israel. There are historical antecedents for an international mission along these lines. Deradicalization programs succeeded in Germany and Japan after World War II, and multinational police forces have operated in Bosnia, Kosovo, Haiti and elsewhere. Of course, these efforts come with dangers. Participating countries would risk having their personnel become targets for Hamas.

Today in @thenation.com: Taqwa Ahmed Al-Wawi, a 19-year-old in Gaza, describes what it's like to be so scarred by genocide that you lose your very ability to speak.

Taqwa is brilliant and profound and deserves to be listened to. Please read her words. www.thenation.com/article/worl...
In my own life, it feels like there is a constant fog inside me. I often know what I want to say, but the words just don't come. My thoughts get tangled, and even when I try to speak, my voice falters or dies in my throat. Sometimes my body reacts too-my chest tightens, my hands shake, or I find myself frozen, unable to move forward. It's not just about grief or fear; it's the sensation of being muted from within. I feel as if my inner landscape has been shrouded in silence, and navigating even simple conversations or expressing my needs becomes exhausting. Every attempt to speak out loud feels like breaking through an invisible barrier, and the frustration of being trapped in my own mind is overwhelming.

wikipedia is one of the greatest things ever invented and it must be defended at all costs
jackmirkinson.bsky.social
apropos of nothing, wikipedia is a more objective and informative source about the gaza genocide than any major news outlet i can think of en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaza_ge...
The Gaza genocide is the ongoing, intentional systematic destruction of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip carried out by Israel during the Gaza war. The genocidal acts include mass killings, starvation, the infliction of serious bodily and mental harm, and preventing births.
Other acts include blockade, destroying civilian infrastructure, destroying healthcare facilities, killing healthcare workers and aid-seekers, causing mass forced displacement, committing sexual violence, and destroying educational, religious, and cultural sites. 10 The genocide has been recognised by a United Nations special committeel111 and commission of inquiry,[12] humanitarian and human rights organizations, [131 and international law experts 141[15) including multiple genocide studies 16) and the International Association of Genocide Scholars. it cannot be overstated how disgusting tony blair and his gaza plan are. just one of the most despicable people walking the earth
Perhaps most keen is Tony Blair, an ex-British prime minister. Within weeks of the outbreak of war in Gaza, he had made repeated visits to Jerusalem and got his London-based foundation drafting a plan for a post-war mandate. According to multiple sources involved with the plan, Mr Blair could head a body called the Gaza International Transitional Authority (gita). It would seek a un mandate to be Gaza’s “supreme political and legal authority” for five years. If approved Mr Blair would have a secretariat of up to 25 people and chair a seven-person board to oversee an executive body running the territory. Gulf states would pay. “He’s willing to sacrifice his time. He genuinely wants to end the war,” says a source who knows Mr Blair.

Democrats seem to believe that they can turn a big dial that says "transphobia" up and down with no consequences. But all they're doing is bolstering a fascist drive to wipe trans people off the face of the earth. It's disgusting and shameful and it needs to end www.thenation.com/article/poli...
The Right Wants to Exterminate Trans People. Liberals Are Helping.
After the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the conservative movement has accelerated its war against trans people. And too many centrist Democrats have kept up their trans bashing.
