That's only true this year. People are still sore about it going from $3.35 to $4.20 over the span of a year.
Most groceries had a similar jump. And my family does talk about it all the time. It was like a 30% increase in food all at once, and has crept higher since.

The new puzzles algorithm on has @chess.com has been doing wonders for my blitz game.
I've combined it with changing my focus during the game. I'm going for more wins, even if they're messy, as opposed to "safe" draws where both players get 95% accuracy.
