As an ex-academic:
1. Anthropic used my publications without permission
2. They paid later; thanks, lawyers
3. I'm fine with it; getting knowledge out there was the point of publishing.
4. I'm delighted that I can now just say "use the idea" and agents know and do.

And China is already moving to 3D memory, 2-10x better energy/inference and 4x HBM BW. And they know consumer products. And their models are so MoE that they're hella-fast at batch 1. There's a >>50% scenario where most LLM tokens are laptop. Chatbots die soon, coding agents last longer?

Batteries & solar panels are pretty easy to recycle, and that business will develop with supply. CO2 doesn't recycle without putting the energy back in. But mainly, we get to pick lesser evils, and they're all lesser wrt fossil fuel
