The mere fact that a person with national security responsibilities would claim that this chat was not classified, was“no big deal,” and represented no threat should in and of itself be disqualifying. Doubling down on bad judgment doesn’t make it good judgment.

Between the Bove/Sassoon/Adams contretemps and Attorney General Bondi’s preposterous letters to Apple and Google, Thursday was about as bad a day for the Department of Justice’s credibility as we’ve seen in generations.

Trump is dismantling the FBI, the agency responsible for disrupting assassination plots. Seems stupid to neuter your own best protection. Stupider yet to piss ‘em off.
As a classical history scholar I know that at least 13 Roman Emperors were killed by their own Praetorian Guards. Just sayin ‘
