Surely illumination also did this short though? That's like the exact style and sheen they usually have (well that *all* of these movies have I guess)

The return of the Hayabusa2 sample capsule to Australia, and a wonderfully personal account of the mission, was written by @jacksonwryan.com. Fujimoto Masaki led the recovery team, and he insisted that JAXA allocate a Ryugu sample grain to be displayed in Adelaide as soon as they requested.

Here is how Japan's space agency pulled off a daring expedition to snatch pieces of the ancient space rock Ryugu.

Societal breakdown occurs in the queue for a bus.
jacksonwryan.com
We'd waited an hour, people pushed in front of us too. But the couple gave up their spot on the 2nd bus to Bolzano so we could get on and make it to our train. No idea how to thank you both, but if you ever see this, you're welcome in my home, I owe you and will repay this gesture somehow! 🫶🏻

Don't know where else to post this. A beautiful Malaysian couple at Ortisei bus stop had been waiting 90 minutes, missing their first bus because people pushed in front of them. The next bus that came was so busy and people again pushed in front of them. Disgusting behaviour.

🧪 Science has a similar but different issue. The embargo system has worked mostly to homogenise the kind of science journalism you see, and the studies that publishers, journals, institutions etc deem most important. With AI, I think this type of popular reporting is in huge strife.
jacksonwryan.com
With no embargoes there may be an increased emphasis by publishers to be "first" to review and get the traffic / eyeballs, but if your reviews are rushed (they already are), or they don't reflect reality, you'll eventually get swallowed up by those putting in the work imho.
jacksonwryan.com
Too much attention paid to a writer breaking embargo and not enough attention paid to ... the way publishers and PR impose embargoes, with highly unrealistic timeframes and increasingly with restrictions that hinder press freedoms. The incentives for modern games criticism are all wrong.

National political reporters: consult your gaming desk. You likely have a massively blind spot — this isn’t a dig at anyone, because I have this blind spot too b/c I’m not a gamer and am trying to adjust for it in real time — covering this very important moment if u don’t game & don’t know the memes

Really interesting stuff from some of the best to do it (applicable to both developers and Jini). Discussion on underestimating players also very illuminating.
