Agreed. If he'd only lived long enough to turn his short "What Did Jack Do" into a feature.

Great movie. I remember seeing it when it came out. I was nine. Great cast, including the very young Corey Feldman. Seemed to be very much how Wells and JTR would've reacted to the world today, circa 1979 (although the real Jack would not have been the charismatic London surgeon he was in the movie)

I agree. Hard to even realize that it's him at times. Completely disappeared into the character.

One of the best sequels, ever.I love that it went in a completely different direction, rather than just recreate the 1st one(but more) like so many sequels do.The sequence where the soldiers body cams all are on as the aliens come out of the walls as Gorman freezes & Ripley tells them to get out.Wow

Stanley Kubrick was a chess hustler as a teenager growing up in NYC.

and there's no way a houseful of people would all sleep THAT soundly. Today, Kevin would have broadcast everything on Facebook live and he'd have been hauled into juvenile court on assault and shoplifting charges.

Maybe a reboot down the road

If she had gotten home much earlier, she might've gotten hit with a shovel or tripped some booby traps.

On the dvd commentary, the director said the studio wanted the cat getting fried scene cut. He begged them to let him leave it in and it ended up being the favorite scene of the preview audiences.

I remember when 2 Live Crew's "As Nasty as they want to be" came out in 1989. I remember the record being ruled "obscene" in Florida and a record store owner being arrested for selling it. I literally ran to a record store to buy it.

Because he was just watching "Miracle on 34th Street" and the scene with the drunken Santa at the beginning really got to him.

I liked "The Thing from Another World" but it seemed a little too leisurely-paced until the end. You don't get the isolation and paranoia like you do in the '82 "The Thing:".

It's about time. One of the greatest scripts and greatest casts in movie history.

Criterion releases are always top of the line. I wonder who will be in the Criterion closet first to get one.

There was one for the Nintendo that I had in the late 80's. If yours is the same one I'm thinking of, I hear you. Never beat it, either. No wonder you were going all Joe Pesci.

I agree. Watched the original a couple of nights ago. Still great. One of the very few series, horror or otherwise, where there are no bad ones.
