Generators: Easy way to make iterables in a single function. Ex: The Deno filesystem “walk” package, or Redux Saga.

Symbols: Great as object keys, and making “protocols” that hook into the language. Ex: Symbol.iterator, or Symbol.dispose.

Buffers: Very useful low-level memory primitive. Ex: WebGPU

LLMs can teach mechanics (which covers a lot of intro-to-x content), but not perspective. Like ChatGPT could teach me to build my own Redux, but watching your Egghead course and seeing how you frame and solve the problems leading up to making Redux really changed how I think about UI dev generally

Reminds me of the recent Observable Proposal: github.com/WICG/observa...

Also keep in mind, this will cause a memory leak if you don’t include the {once: true} option in addEventListener!

Wendover has a great analysis on this. tl;dr the incentive just isn’t there. Airline IT just needs to match the competition. Nobody wants to front the time/money in improvements if they don’t have to.

That’s the thing, they aren’t compiled to wasm. Deno FFI loads Rust binaries directly, same as native C libaries in Node.

Advantage of Rust is it can interface with Deno’s rust api, and look no different from a built-in native api
