Even without treaties, I've never understood why it was so difficult to "just don't do dumb stuff that will blow up the world"

Birthright citizenship is a policy choice so central to our values and identity as a nation that we chose to amend the Constitution to protect it against the passions and prejudices of temporary majorities.

Yes, Republicans are in control, but they're not omnipotent. The DNC has been utterly complicit, from those consistently voting for his nominees to the fact there aren't 600 articles of impeachment on the floor at this moment... I'm not giving cowards a pass when they *can* do something about it

Sadly, with the quality (and their quantity) of Democrats still in Congress, they're more likely to get a mildly worded letter at worst or even eventual new positions in a Dem administration as a way to "heal the nation".

The presidency as we know it should be burned to the ground, and salt the earth. Congress needs a pretty big overhaul, including on the electoral system. But the Court mostly just needs justices who aren't deranged hacks avowedly hostile to fundamental principles of the republic.

New world vs old, and all that such a dividing line has represented over the generations as we pursue happiness and the blessings of liberty. I can't believe some people want to reshackle ourselves with that historical baggage

I doubt that it's daily (veins do wear out) but whatever it is is more than a simple bruise, too.

Do you get the sense it was written with the "aid" of AI or just with the input of a lot of non-professionals (as you point out, the use of "should" and "want" is quite unusual)

Latest TEL has, but still. Having and fostering a community of similar individuals would be cool. I mean, there's thousands who work in this area, surely there's more than 2 openly queer people? Lol

I thought their much beloved AI industry was about to wipe out the know-nothing consulting class?
Maybe they can try peanut farming instead 🤔

That looks like Marsha. If it is, then she is indeed quite proud

Real Americans in Appalachia have always resisted what they perceive as tyranny. Whether that was during the Revolution or against the Confederacy or during prohibition...
