Without just posting my book deal post yet again, I want to respond in a little more depth to @timclare.bsky.social's insightful thread about The Repairer of Reputations. Back in 2020, when COVID was just hitting, I needed something to focus my attention on. This story, and this book, was that.
I've been thinking a lot about The King in Yellow, particularly the first story in the collection. In some ways it's not especially well written, but it's also one of my favourite horror/weird stories ever written. In summaries, people often leave out its weirdness;
