Never listened to WJ's radio show back then - he was kind of a cartoonish character and did Top 40 as I recall, although I did find him amusing.
Tons of music in '76, most were slickly over-produced, imo.
A few survive in my collection - Simon's "Still Crazy", Benson's "Breezin'" among them.
