It just seems like whataboutism to me. Ukraine was invaded by Russia, full stop. Regardless of whether we want them to arrest far-right groups for doing shit like this, it doesn’t change that fundamental fact that Russia invaded Ukraine.

Yeah I mean fuck NATO, but on the other hand painting the Ukrainian people as deserving to be torn from their homes or undeserving of sympathy because of a march that was condemned in Ukrainian politics is just… weird?

You know Im disagreeing with you right? The use of the Hammer and Sickle to represent Russia is not only historically innacurate, but it obfuscates the class-based nature of what Russia wants to do and is doing.

It’s really just very entrenched in Russian Culture despite Russia having not been socialist for decades.

We have officially graduated from “Communism is when no IPhone,” to “Communism is when hammer and sickle,”
Some Russian iconography still includes the hammer and sickle because it would either be too costly to change it or it appeals to an older generation of folks who lived in the Soviet Union.
