More than 40 years in the UK piano trade. Over qualified, under appreciated. Not blind.

Should be retired really. And rich. Am neither.
This must be my lucky day. I got the two shitting awkward screws on the Kawai piano fall in first time without dropping them into the case. I may buy a lottery ticket.

CAPE.

Completely Another Person’s Endeavours?

The brand name Renner is elsewhere on the action.

Has your piano got one of these in it? Then it’s Chinese. This is the Universal Chinese Fall Bracket, used at every opportunity.

Classy repairs to a Broadwood Semi Grand executed with style, skill and panache by one of my competitors. I don’t think I can match up… 🤦‍♂️

Bösendorfer resto-bodge.

Unforgivable.

I can’t think of anything made in America that I’d want to buy. Their pianos are shit (including most of the NY Steinways) their cars are worse and their food is not fit for human consumption. Tariff away, Trusk and Mump.

With both Meta and X, as with Elon's attempts to undermine the state, the UK government needs to remember that it is actually, you know, a government of a nation and can just do things like this. We should be taking lessons from Brazil's approach.
BOOM: 💥
Brazil gives Meta 72 hours to explain new fact-checking policies
Brasília (AFP) – Brazil on Friday gave social media giant Meta 72 hours to explain its fact-checking policy for the country, and how it plans to protect "fundamental rights" on its platforms.

Christ help us. The tuner does his work only to have it molested by the smug, gurning boogie-hound.
n #Plymouth at Plymouth Pavilions, merrily waiting for Jools Holland’s piano tuner before we start sound-checking. The piano is tuned before every show of course!! And I count my blessings in time with his tampering 🙏✨♥️

Piano tuner came this afternoon and my instrument once again sounds beautiful. In a world of AI slop and junk, there’s something life-affirming about watching a human craftsman at work.

Yes. Piano tuning is one skill that will not be replaced by AI.
January 9, 2025 at 9:06 PM
Aye thang yew! 🤣
Shit SHIT the piano tuner is incredibly beautiful. And lying down on his back under my piano with his knees bent. And asking me to repeatedly pass the lubricant. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GET ANYTHING DONE.

Ooh! Another #ShitPianoFont. The posh new €300,000 CF job from Hungarian piano botherer Sergei Bogányi. Proof positive that oodles of cash doesn’t buy you taste.

Whose land? Tax avoidance and the broken economics of British farming
Noise in the billionaire press about inheritance tax changes hides a basic fact: the non-farming rich own too much land

Best kind of wife.
Reminds me, I was asleep at home off nights once. Wife had gone to work and hadn't told me she'd arranged a piano tuner to come round!

Another classic #CrapPianoFont:

What happens when you’re Welsh and you get a Russian to brand a piano with a fake Austrian name. (There’s no ‘Z’ in the Russian Cyrillic but there’s a ‘И’).

Lameиtable Boris.

Time for a random #CrapPianoFont. Kayserburg.

Nope. Me neither.

🚨PRODUCT RECALL🚨
“Brian Butterfield’s 49 Meats of Xmas Advent Calendar” is being recalled as regrettably, all the raw, unrefrigerated meats contained expire on 29th November 2024.

Also my book “There’s No Business Like Business” is still available to buy here

Come on #Kawai. This is why #Yamaha are better than you. First you used little bolts which were impossible to fit, then a reasonable wing nut, now one that DOESN’T BLOODY REACH and strips the thread. I wouldn’t mind but the bracket is pointless anyway.

Sort it out. The rest of the piano is decent.

Stolen from another tuner’s Facebook account. This is extremely familiar

The church hadn’t called me in 12 years.
“Several of the notes don’t play… and it might need tuning.”

I’m guessing the old Blue Sky servers are struggling with all the old Xitter traffic. Seems a bit flaky today.

Broadwood ‘Barless’ from the 1990s. Owing to lamentable production methods it’s also a bit toneless and tuneless. Very sad. Could have been a winner. Almost a contender for ‘crap piano font’ with that careless letter spacing on the frame.
