Moderately hinged thoughts of a normal, everyday person man.

Using this to scream into the void and talk Nascar, weightlifting, NFL, pro wrestling, metal music, Sonic games, the 1988-1994 series Garfield and Friends.
Eagles’ season highlight for me was listening to their 83-year-old radio commentator Merrill Reese crash out and say that he wanted to do “a one and a half gainer into the lower bowl” due to the heinous refball during the Broncos game in October.

Life update I’ve kind of circled back to ‘regular’ lifting these past few months but with a little more focus on mobility and stretching. Definitely need to do more yoga and less superfluous eating in 2026.
I’m most excited for the stretching and core focus that a program like this brings. After years of basically ‘just’ lifting, I feel like a sack of worn, knotted sinew. Want to address that as I proceed deeper into “the wrong side of 30.”
Life update, P90X is my official hyperfixation of the month. Two days into P90X3 and I am feeling the nostalgic aches in my abs. Hoping to become a beast with the 30-min workouts on top of some regular lifting and rucking.

Random New Year’s Eve memory: playing Cards Against Humanity at a gathering and having one of those friends of a friend constantly do the classic ‘Erm, actually my response was the best ☝️” when his card wasn’t picked.

I like Tony Romo as an analyst, but his simping for Unc Aaron while the Steelers have been held to two field goals is crazy.

I don’t want to spend money on Black Ops 7 but man those BO2 maps were fun to play this past weekend.

When I played MGS2 as a kid, I wasn't as jaded as many other fans were; I thought the Raiden character switch stuff was pretty cool.

What really ticked me off was when Substance came out and the 'Snake Tales' were just random non-canon stories told through text.

Black and blue Monster is better than white Monster and I’m tired of people pretending it’s not.

Core memory: getting a PS2 in April 2002 with MGS2, GTA 3, and Nascar Thunder 2003. I think this has to be the GOAT console gen.
i love the original PS2 version of MGS2 so much man

I have a deep nostalgia I have for the original P90X videos. Take me back to young adulthood to my buddy’s basement with worn couches, a DVD player, and a giant wood panel CRT tv, or to the time I did Kenpo X in the attic of a garbage truck garage with my cousin. Core memories.

My Jurassic World Rebirth review: At least it isn’t one of the Chris Pratt movies.

I will say, for all of my criticisms of MGSV (lore weirdness, incomplete story, Kojima’s outright creepiness with Quiet’s character), it is super fun to play, and Venom Snake has that AURA,
If Venom was running around with wormholes and crazy stuff in the mid 80s, there’s no chance Solid Snake could have stopped him in ‘95. Though the advanced tech stuff is a problem with MGSV overall (e.g., the existence of a skyscraper-sized Metal Gear).

I can never really get into prequel games that eventually have all your progress undone. Thinking GTA Vice City Stories (build an empire as Vic Vance just to get smoked at the start of VC) and MGSV (build up BB/Venom's empire just to get smoked in MG1) in particular.

Underrated and core memory games: Soviet Strike and Nuclear Strike. Super epic for 1996 and 1997 standards. They put a ton of effort into the stories, video clips, acting, etc.

Random Genesis banger of the day: Shredder’s Hideout part 2 from TMNT Hyperstone Heist. What makes this (and first part of the stage’s song) cool is how it’s not just a redo of a Turtles in Time song—pretty sure it’s an original composition for this version.
