This is false. Also, equating protests to a coup d’état is literally from the dictator’s playbook.

I cannot talk about Chile, but I can talk about Mexico. This is another example of the effectiveness of propaganda. In Mexico, we are indeed a murder hotspot (look at the official numbers), but the federal government excels at using propaganda to mitigate the damage in public perception.

The last thing the cartels —at least the Mexican ones— want is to mess with the U.S. government. They only want to keep doing business as usual. They dreadfully target us Mexicans in our communities if they feel the need to (e.g., “calentar la plaza”)
