Fully agree - I saw it in the cinema and had I gone to see it on my own, I would've walked out 25 minutes in. By the end of the film I liked it but swore I would never see it again. However, ever since sleeping on it I have actually wanted to revisit it, though I can't yet bring myself to do so.

I thought the same thing - wasn't part of the appeal of the original that it was scary but still suitable for kids? Aside from that one kill towards the end where the guy gets bitten in half, it's like they were far too scared to show anything even remotely frightening?
