Throwdown pitches it very well, and it's so clear from both the judges that they really care about the potters and their progress. I also do enjoy sewing bee - that can also be drawn into personal taste/preference, but always highlight good technical sewing

I feel like they have realised that and been less cutting in maybe the last two series, but it doesn't have that same warmth. Also a lot of bakers trying to do e.g. more booze for Prue, or try to do something they know Paul likes, rather than doing something because they enjoy it

100% bake off has become more unpalatable (lol) as the years have gone on - I think losing Mel and Sue and their warm encouragement as a counterpoint to Paul's curtness really hurt the format. I think Mary was also kinder than Prue.
