Yes! (I have all her books).

She writes in a way I could never, which is partly why I love her stuff I think. I love the way she reads too. She has flashes of absurdist stand-up brilliance, but with an incredible emotional sucker punch.

Lat night she was on fire - proper greatest hits gear!

Soho Poly Poetry - organised by Hannah Copely. Line up was Caroline Bird (whose poetry is wonderfully singular and funny and affecting), Will Harris (who I'd not read before - now on my must-buy list), and Joelle Taylor (who I'd not heard read before - live she's something else, just incredible).

Oh wow...

I mean... Christ. This is phenomenal.

Incredible timing, too. I'm on a train heading home after an incredible triple bill of poetry, having literally just put down Soi-même to take a breather after being knocked sideways by "Brain as radula".

The whole pamphlet is a joy. As is this.

😂😂😂 I've deleted it - although I was replying to you, I was also in the midst of sorting a work issue. Managed to get mynwires crossed, meaning I put his name in the reply to you!

I may need to concentrate on one thing at a time! Apologies.

Hard to pick a "best" Dinosaur Jr LP, but this puts in a very good case for it.

Seen the clips, looking forward to a longer watch. Really good to see you getting your mug(gs) out there. X

There's a beautiful narrative simplicity to this that's really impressive Matt and, in my experience at least, very hard to pull off this successfully.

There's an honesty to it that we're sorely missing in most political discourse atm.

I certainly didn't take it as that! 😂

Wish I could - especially after missing last Sunday, but Wednesdays are reserved for karate. Always a great turn-out and such a fantastic camaraderie at Black Bough open mics.

The sub and the chief sub who let it through...

It's a genuinely ballsy move.

Oh wow! I'm so glad you like it. I spent some of the day editing and looking back at old work.

The prompt helped me see an old piece in a new light, so I salvaged a couple of lines and used them as a starter.

Not sure it's as on-brief as your wonderful piece, but it's close enough. :)
