What a prick. My boy wore ear defenders for years, it was the difference between going to school or a supermarket or refusing to cross the door. They made a huge difference to his every day life and made things like bonfire night bearable. These people are clueless.

This makes me so angry. He either has zero clue about neurodivergence or he's being deeply malicious. Probably both tbh. Noise cancelling earphones have been life changing for our friend with autism & ADHD. They literally allow him to leave the house & cope for periods in noisy or busy places

It all plays into the growing narrative that autism and ADHD are "over diagnosed", rather than just better recognised. It's the equivalent of saying that people were "over diagnosed" as being left handed when schools stopped penalising them for not writing with their right hand. 2/
