Vivian is a comics artist who lives in Seattle & she's been illustrating stories from Seattle history that she's found on loc.gov.

If you put in a nomination, maybe she can do this about your hometown as well?
Vivian as comic illustration says "Here's a treasure I found about Seattle. When I first moved to Seattle from Illinois, the first thing I noticed were the hils. Cars would roll backwards, my knees hurt, and biking got a LOT harder. But Seattle used to be much, much hillier." "In the beginning of the 20th century, Seattle went through a series of regrading projects. Hills were torn down to make the downtown more easily accessible (the horses were getting tired). However, I didn't know how the hills were being torn down..." "Until I saw this photo of them just blasting the hills with water. WA-BAM! Isnt that wild? the goal of Anwhere Adventures is to see what stories can be found in the Library about the places people live. The first stop is Seattle, Washington. Where should we go next? Nominate your twon today to have custom stories and activities created especially for you!"
