I'm so happy to hear good things about Gail Daughtry. Wain/Marino is a very odd, unique brand of humor that doesn't land with everyone but cracks me up every time. Wet Hot is brilliant.

I haven't seen it but it doesn't have to be perfect to be a success for him - if he wanted a weird, slow meditative Lovecraftian burn in his one-man blood ocean bottle episode of a movie and managed to turn a profit from it while avoiding the studio system how can anyone be mad when he does?

There's a scene in the Brave Little Toaster where a lonely flower in a forest sees its reflection on the toaster and assumes that it finally and for the first time has a friend or someone to love, only to be crushed when the toaster leaves and then wilts and dies. That scene fucked me up as a kid.
