Depends on the type of tree and type of mushroom. Some have a beneficial symbiotic relationship. Others are a sign of a parasitic toxic fungus.

Very true. I escaped KC in 2008 and lived blissfully in Portland OR until a few months ago when I was dragged back to KC against my will. Tried to explain to my Portland friends that culture in KC is just football and bbq. I’m plotting my escape.

Damn it! Now I want Chez-It’s to go with my book. The only crunchy snack I have is Rice Chex cereal which is not even remotely close.

I’m a former Army officer and a lifelong progressive. After 2016 I fought back in many ways. But now I find that I feel like our nation has died. I wish I was exaggerating when I say I feel like a refugee with no country to return to. I’m almost 70 and it’s killing me. I won’t forgive or forget.

I thought this was lichen. Genuinely asking this: are lichens classed as mushrooms?
