Keep in mind that the work here is system-wide work preparing the whole network for the 2 Line connection this year.

This is much larger scale work than the usual maintenance that they can generally slot into the regular nightly shutdowns.

For the stations being worked on here, the last train runs at at 12:30am, and the first train runs at 4:30am. That's a *max* of 4 hours. Factor in startup/shutdown/safety verification/de-icing/etc., and you're easily looking at *maybe* 2 hours max. Some equipment here takes that long just to set up.
