Like, and I am not saying this to be an ass, I have realized I just value the process of putting my thoughts into words way more than the average person. It’s, frankly, my favorite thing to do. But I’ve learned this is not the case with everyone. I hate this fact! But it’s undeniably true!

Should people be able to push through this response when serious political stuff is involved? Sure. But people *should* do a lot of stuff that we obviously know they won’t. Just grow up and learn how to communicate without being an asshole

Honestly, it’s a fairly rational social response imo (even if people can take it to dark places when applied to politics).
Like, in most situations, if someone isn’t capable of treating you with a basic level of kindness, you should reject what they have to say.

It’s not a surprise that this cohort isn’t thinking things through, but you really have to not be thinking things through to establish the standard that city employees can be fired for beliefs unrelated to their jobs.
