Found this via the retro games bluesky list. What systems and types of games do you like?

That’s super interesting and why I recommend people try a bunch of chairs for as long as they can before deciding. For me the embody was the one chair where I could sit a bunch of different ways including cross legged and still be comfortable.

Oh and I tried an Aeron as well which had incredible fit and finish but like the others I returned it just wasn't comfortable enough for me.

I tried a Herman Miller Cosm and Embody as well and ended up keeping the Embody. Out of all three chairs it has the worst fit and finish, makes all sorts of plasticky creaks, and feels the cheapest, but was easily the most comfortable for me.

I tried a bunch of the top tier office chairs and I really wanted to love the Gesture. Super nice fit and finish, loved the articulating arms, but in the end my ass hurt in the seat pan. That's the sittin' part! That's the one part that you can't fuck up!

yeah whatever I end up with will have a 4:3 screen. Thinking of maybe the nova blast plus that 4k 26" Arcooda display. If they sold just the cabinet without a monitor it would be a slam dunk.

so i only sorta understand the difference between tVOC and VOC, it looks like this is superior to tVOC sensors. Is that right?

What sensor(s) do you use and do you like them?

Yeah I think even "mediocre" RGB output from the MiSTer is lightyears better than what we grew up with. These tests are comparing it to reference ideal output signal. Without seeing things side by side I have no idea how much of a difference a "two star" output is versus a "five star."

Also I forgot how fucking clean that display was. Just white square pixels when most faceplates where just using 8-segment displays but with ~crazy colors~.

The king was my JVC KD-SH707 car stereo that supported MP3 CDs, had a motorized faceplate, and an actual volume knob back when seemingly every other deck had up/down buttons for volume. Installed it myself in three cars.

My first player came later, a Diamond RioVolt SP100 MP3 CD Player. This thing got me through high school. I used it probably every day.

I was there when my cousin opened his Eiger Labs MPMan F-10, the original MP3 player. Only had a 16 or 32MB Smart Media card and transferred songs over parallel port.

I think this version of Mechwarrior 2 is the best. Aesthetically I think it looks better than any other version, especially at the crazy 1024x768 resolution. But also the abstractness is a benefit, it's easier for your mind to fill in the gaps and it felt, at least to me as a kid, more real.

On top of having one of the best soundtracks in all of video games.
