I feel like the obvious solution to the #CFP 5 seed vs 1 seed debate is to not do a linear bracket and do re-seeding between the rounds like the NFL does.
That way the highest remaining seed always plays the lowest remaining seed.
No need to take away auto-bids.

If Travis Hunter wins Heisman because he's pretty-good but not great at either corner or receiver over a guy who is having a top 3 RB season of all time I will have lost faith in humanity.
