Here for good vibes and to escape the atrocity that is the “X” platform.

Expect posts about the NFL (especially the Miami Dolphins), video games, and the entertainment industry.

Also, I chat about video games: https://shorturl.at/2rUFl
Character limit be damned, so I can’t get my full thoughts here, but TLDR:

Highguard (and Concord) doesn’t commit many of the live-service sins. It’s also free and keeps most of the cash grabbing stuff away from the player if you don’t want to engage.

Completely get being sick of the Apex-coded visuals. Apex didn’t click for me (not a big Battle Royale guy), so a game that feels just as a good in a different format is a W for me.

As a (former) passionate cheerleader of Concord, a game that was up there with COD, Destiny & Titanfall (s-tier) for how gunplay/movement felt, I can’t bear to see another game with so much potential be taken away so quickly.

A genuine thank you for being a cheerleader! I don’t understand the hate or disinterest around this game. I get it if it’s not someone’s thing, but so many F2P games feel like garbage to play, and the controls and gamefeel are absolutely wonderful in Highguard.

I’m not a GM nor have I played football, but hiring the guy whose defense collapsed in the wild card game and then hiring the QBs coach behind CJ Stroud feels like…poor decisions.

As a Dolphins fan, I grow increasingly more worried every day that Hafley is gonna be the hire.

Counter-example: I played Sunshine for the first time when 3D All-Stars came out and LOVED it. 2nd favorite 3D Mario game.

I have a feeling my experience benefitted from low expectations, but there are also some AWESOME things in that game.

In summary, expectation is a big influence on experience.

I had a similar experience when Remastered came out. Enjoyed it, but did not see the “one of the best games of all time” hype. Some of that is misplaced expectations, but I do think there are flaws in Metroid Prime worth talking about.

I respect the follow-up, despite the Panthers best efforts to try to get themselves out of the playoffs.

I wish them the best of luck on an upset!

Kind of sounds like Tua’s contract was just poor team management more than anything else? - miserable Dolphins fan

This is the most I’ve seen @gameovergreggy.bsky.social genuinely POP for an announcement in awhile. Love Game Awards night and loved watching it with y’all

It won’t be popular, but I think Highguard will be fun as hell. Multiplayer games do not show off well, and they should stop having trailers like this without any hands-on coverage. I bet it’s quite fun, but no trailer can properly show that. It’s about the little moments!

As a Fins fan, I respect the sentiment, but there are 5-8 QBs that I’d confidently say a team can/will “win a SB” with. If you ain’t got one of those, you have to hope your team gets lucky when the elite QB teams have a meh year (aka this year). Can’t get lucky unless your QB is at least competent.
