having said that I recently splashed out on a watch from www.paulinwatches.com . They have some nice designs (more graphic design stylee than traditional) with quartz and automatics at 35mm. Was a lot of money for me (esp considering it was quartz) but I love it (and it fits!)

agreed, anything larger than 36mm diameter and it looks like I have a stock pot lashed to my arm. I’ve been getting into vintage watches for that reason, they seemed to have more size restraint in the past 😆

I use it as singular (ie “this data”) and point out to anyone who complains that they wouldn’t say “this datum” or “this agendum”, because we don’t speak Latin. At that point I’m usually frothing at the mouth and raving though so people don’t tend to take notice 🤣

I always internally vocalised ζ as “seahorse” and ξ as “fancy seahorse” 🙃
