No. It has happened so rarely that I forget between episodes but this time was really serious so I need to avoid shellfish (although I tested prawns, which I love, on the last day with no effect). There was octopus and all sorts of mussels and clams etc in the paella…

Hubby did indeed do a phenomenal job of planning the whole trip. Lisbon, Porto & the Douro valley, then Coimbra and Évora, before 5 days of real R and R by the sea in the Algarve. When I stop having to sleep every hour I’ll summarise the lot!

We also visited the famous egg tart bakery! I ate a few but certainly not every day although they were always available on our breakfast spreads.

I had a nasty allergic experience with some mixed seafood in paella where my throat closed and I couldn’t swallow. It took forever to open & I nearly fainted. It’s happened twice before - this was by far the worst. So from then on I ate fish but no shellfish. Bummer.

We found a lot of Portuguese cooking rather under spiced but in three restaurants, had glorious dinners - two seafood, one incredible chicken stuffed with mushrooms, cooked slowly in some broth.

I’ve been writing notes on Portugal to post (and for my own memories) but have been half asleep most days - 17 hours in total to get home. Ugh!

Back home safely, tx Cindy - we went to Belém to see the Fort but it was being renovated & shrouded in cloths. Instead we went to the Maritime museum. It was phenomenal- showed the development of Portuguese warships from earliest times right up to when Portugal had its heyday of maritime dominance.

💥 Russia: Ukrainian drones struck the LUKOIL-Korobkovsky Gas Processing Plant in Kotovo, Volgograd region.
This key facility was processing several billion cubic meters of raw gas annually, converting to usable natural gas, propane, butane, etc.

Kristi Noem was unaware that the suspension of habeas corpus was under Article I of the Constitution and even if the fate of the most basic liberty right were delegated one would hope that it would be to the President and not the Secretary of Homeland Security
