Trump is of German decent. As are most British...
December 11, 2025 at 2:16 PM
Only in theory.
December 11, 2025 at 10:35 AM
From the EU's point of view, the UK is Trump's lapdog.
December 10, 2025 at 9:30 AM
Already visible.

Any cap is discriminatory against the youth of the EU. The number of inhabitants in the EU is six times that of the UK. If a cap is accepted, the EU should get 6 times the amount of the UK. In return British youth get to explore 27 countries, EU youth just one island.

So, "take back control of our borders" is actually "ask France to control our borders". 😂
December 10, 2025 at 9:16 AM
As long as UK keeps this attitude, rejoining is out of the question. The EU will only offer access to the Single Market. That gives the UK all the economic benefits, but zero power. The UK would have to follow almost all EU rules and regulations, pay into the EU budget and full FOM, without a say.
December 8, 2025 at 2:13 PM
Which proves the UK never really supported nor understood the EU. The EU is a political union. Economics is a means, not the goal. The UK never even joined the Economic and Monetary Union part of the EU. And yet, the UK only wants economic benefits. That is not the purpose of the EU at all.
December 8, 2025 at 2:09 PM
LOL, 'take back control' betekent in de praktijk: 'Geef Frankrijk de schuld'. En unelected bureaucrats? De Britten hebben zelf ook een ongekozen Premier en zelfs een ongekozen eerste kamer. Pot, kettle, plus een boterberg op het hoofd.
December 6, 2025 at 9:29 AM
December 6, 2025 at 9:26 AM
It is possible to join the SM without joining the EU. I'm even convinced the EU would love it as this means the UK would have to follow almost the entire EU acquis, including FOM and paying into the EU budget, but without a seat at the EU decision making table. The UK would keep the £.
December 5, 2025 at 9:20 AM
But the EU wants to get rid of all those Swiss exceptions. Unlikely to bring new ones in for the UK.
December 4, 2025 at 9:25 AM
Yes, the UK is back to cherry picking and cakeism instead of a 'reset'. No participation for the UK in SAFE, because the UK refuses to pay its fair share. But Canada has no problems with that and is participating.
December 2, 2025 at 1:40 PM
December 2, 2025 at 1:33 PM
Still heading for that direction, just slower.
December 2, 2025 at 10:39 AM
The UK does not need help with that.
December 2, 2025 at 10:02 AM
So, why did Canada sign up to SAFE, but the UK was unable to strike a deal? Lack of negotiating skills, lack of self reflection?
December 2, 2025 at 10:00 AM
"illustrating a marked failure by both sides " The UK trying to cherry pick again and even for free is somehow the fault of the EU?
December 1, 2025 at 9:19 AM
Most French woodburners already comply if they are less than 20 years old.
December 1, 2025 at 9:15 AM
The EU does not have an army.

That is a French plated car. If his primary residence is in the UK, he cannot legally own a car with a French plate. As a foreigner he can also not drive a car with a French plate owned by a French person. Either way, he is breaking EU, French and UK law.
November 28, 2025 at 10:07 AM
I don't think he lives in France. He can stay there as a tourist for 90/180 days.
November 28, 2025 at 9:55 AM
The top 10% high earners pay 90% of all income tax. What happens when they leave?
November 25, 2025 at 9:31 AM
Ukraine is very far removed from meeting EU accession criteria, so is the UK for that matter.
November 24, 2025 at 10:22 AM
Good. No place for illegal cars.
