Curious if I can hook LuaGObject into another app using GTK to allow for scripting of interfaces *from* Lua without having to re-export/expose so much surface space of an API.

The things that are most legible get the most support. Nowhere is this clearer to me than political fundraising, where campaigns and to a lesser extent the Dem local/state/national parties being in the lions share of resources while meanwhile infrastructure and innovative and/or […]

Bottom line: you bring me aboard your web publishing or software team because there are many fires vying for your attention and I figure out which ones to put out first.

One day, if I figure it out; I'll make a real time graph of what instances have hit what pages on my server from my access logs with the delta of time being from the time I've shared it on the Fediverse, lol.

If I had real control, I could insert what activity hit the initial post in that […]

Today's the first day of #blackaugust. You might remember me writing and talking about it last year.

https://www.jacky.wtf/essays/2025/black-august/

Well, it's that time again.
Black August
Black August is the time of year where abolitionists aim to align themselves with the struggle of those who are held by states for the purpose of maintaining their neocolonial control over the populace. I wrote about my time engaging with this last year — something I found to be pretty grounding. This year, I'm hoping to match that energy I found then and add more to it. ## Literature The relevant thing to be shared is my reading list. Some of these books are re-reads and I was hoping to finish the rewrite my website so I can share some of the highlights as I collect them with y'all. For now, I'll stick to my week notes to deliver them, like I did last year[1]. The books include: * Mumia Abu-Jamal's book Live From Death Row * Orisanmi Burton's Tip of The Spear: Black Radicalism, Prison Repression and The Long Attica Revolt * Angelo's Prisoners' Inventions I'm fortunate to have been gifted that copy of _Tip of the Spear_ from a fellow friend in the struggle. I got _Prisoners' Inventions_ from Kaba's mention of it — through their newsletter, I believe. I decided to also get a poster with the same text as the cover that I see every day. This is short because I'm sending it out _so late_. But I hope that you find it motivational enough to figure out how you involve yourself with the movement. * * * 1. You can see some of them for August 5, August 12, August 19, and August 26. ↩︎

This might be my parallax of perspective here, but is there a sort of race/gender divide on how AI is promoted/developed?

Like there's a bit of irony that it's been men who mock the concept of stochastic parroting, but it's been mainly femmes and non-white folks who've been driving the charge […]
