My great grandfather burned many fires in his life. Like him I'm a Gardner. I cultivate plants outdoors. A bit of wisdom I've learned from my great grandpa was that ash is the best natural fertilizer to foster the healthiest plants possible. Nothing ever ends.

We are the people who run into the fire. I wouldn't wanna be anybody else, and there are no people I'd rather turn to ash with. This is the moment where we recognize our mortality. It's terrifying. it's here.

we recognize the inherent value and sanctity of justice, peace, and liberation, and so we decide that whether or not somebody thinks that cause is worthy of persecution, execution, or worse, we're gonna see that it's brought to fruition.

What's left now, for us, are the folks who look at that fire and decide we wanna run into it. for some it's nihilism, maybe because we feel there's no other choice. I like to think the vast majority of us are doing it because we recognize that we are everybody, and everybody is us.

The people who look at hell, look at that fire, and decided that were gonna see how many bodies we can pile onto the flame until it engulfs everybody. At least it'll be warm and cozy before it all turns to cinder.

So the only folks who ended up showing up to the polls were the people who gritted their teeth swallowed their pride and voted for a party they know doesn't give a fuck about them, we're delusional enough to believe that their party represents them and cares, or that special third option.

Then there were some that saw that society on fire, and decided that hell would be extra cozy if we just added some more bodies onto the pile.

People rightfully felt insulted betrayed and infantilized so the response was to disengage. In politics, the people are served by their parties. Constituents are the dictators.

The democrats look at a society on fire and choose to walk away and tell everybody that we can't save people who are burning because it wouldn't be "the American way"

the Democratic Party has decided that they're in the business of winning elections. They don't give a fuck about constituents anymore. They just want to give the same message that everything is okay and that you just need to be the right kind of American, shut up, and carry on.
