My body has been craving all the warm and hearty foods lately. I finally made this cabbage and egg curry from one of Chetna Makan’s cookbooks, tweaked by adding coconut milk and fried shallots on top. I also fried the hardboiled eggs in a batter with turmeric and a dash of curry powder.

Finished another banned book for Banned Books Week: Khaled Hosseini’s _A Thousand Splendid Suns_. This and _The Kite Runner_ were incredibly ubiquitous in the aughts, when I was still singularly obsessed with 17th century lit.

A large bowl of beef Nilaga served with some rice to sop up the delicious broth. Making this is very low energy but does take up some time as I prefer to slow cook the beef shank and develop that broth.
