Edited almost thirty pages this morning while listening to Black Sabbath’s first two albums, followed by a nice walk. Not a bad start to the day. #WritingCommunity

The plan was B&N Press, but I’m going to stick to my original Substack idea with serialized publications because I’m not comfortable doing business with that orange hemorrhoid running amok south of the border. And I can still submit to publishers! #WritingCommunity

Maduro's not a good guy, agreed. But neither is Putin, and Trump rolled out the red fucking carpet for him. It's not about dope, it's about oil (which kinda IS dope).
Just when you think Trump has hit the gutter, he bounces lower.

When Jami gave me a heads-up on Christmas Eve I thought this was a scam. Super thankful for this first review (and for this not being a scam)!
Jami Macarty reviews 'When Sad Ones Go Outside' by Monica Wang, who has the "ability to transform grief into something beautiful, ineffable, yet deeply felt."

Book Review :: When Sad Ones Go Outside by Monica Wang
Wang’s debut blends fabulism and lived experience, transforming grief into journeys through memory, loss, beauty.

My workstation is all set up to begin editing my first novel again. I just have some minor tinkering to do. The PINKY AND THE BRAIN Funkos look cool on my desk--Brain is holding a pencil beside a stack of Post-it notes. #WritingCommunity

They had some nice sales at the comic-book store today. I got a good deal on two graphic-novel collections of the original BATMAN and TMNT! 🙂

Merry Christmas, everyone! I’ve been reading a lot of legal thrillers lately; and if you ever want to feel like a fly on the wall of a realistic courtroom, you should try THE LAW OF INNOCENCE by Michael Connelly!

After the holidays, I’m going to give my first novel one extra proofread before I get to work on the publishing side of things. It’s a psychological suspense story with paranormal elements. #WritingCommunity

There’s a special Muppet edition of TIME on shelves now. It has a great article on the making of THE MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL—probably my favourite Christmas movie.

Belated Happy Birthday! I should try to find the print issue if you’re in it!
Wow I haven’t seen some of these photos in a long time. Thank you People Magazine for the birthday shoutout and for sharing these memories. 📸 Link below or in my bio for the full article. @peoplemag.bsky.social

Thank you to all the wonderfully talented graphic artists who reached out to me. I am overwhelmed. 😊

Change of plans. It’s looking like I’ll be publishing my first novel with Barnes & Noble Press and hiring a professional graphic artist to do the cover and jacket. 2026 will have good things to come!

You don’t even need keys now. I saw a stupid commercial of someone using a phone to unlock their car. 😵‍💫
The trouble with cars that start with the push of.a Button—now all of them—is that you can walk or drive away with the keys in your pocket. In the old days, they hung from the ignition in the dash.

I finished all my Christmas wrapping while listening to the soundtrack of THE MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL and Johnny Mathis. My cats leaving the bows alone now is another story. 😺

I was going to spend the morning wrapping Christmas presents, but I think I’ll be digging myself out of ten feet of snow instead. ❄️ I also will have some Substack announcements over the coming weeks. #WritingCommunity 🙂

I'm reading THE NARROWS by Michael Connelly; and while the story is good, I'm distracted by the logic of why the voice of the narration keeps flip-flopping between first person and third person. Who's telling the story?

Received a rejection from a horror mag for my story about a guy whose head resembles a pumpkin. So many of them seem cut-and-paste that I wonder how often my manuscripts are actually getting read. #WritingCommunity 🤨
