We have commissioned a 3d artist to replace all the placeholder low poly animals in our prehistoric survival culture simulation game.

Do you think this giant sloth will "slot" in our game look and feel?

The first time anyone plays Rimworld, they basically should lose at least one character. Possibly all 3 starter characters. And really struggle either way, to come out slightly scarred by having failed to save everyone.

I suspect you may simply have known too much before starting the game. As a game designer, having played similar games before. It sounds like you read all the descriptions at the start of the game about the different difficulty "characters", instead of just clicking next, next, next, start game.

But it's a really slow build. When day after day you hear that same wistful song in the morning as the sun rises, it worms its way into your soul. You do need to give it time, and quite frankly, to suck at it at the beginning.

Rimworld has one of the few video game soundtracks that I listen to outside of playing the game itself. It effortlessly transports me to that lackadaisical, slightly melancholic space western place. The "survival" is not grizzled hero tropes, just flawed people putting one step in front of the other
