Rodents come out in the open like this when they've eaten poison and are about to die. That's the only circumstance where I have seen this kind of thing before.

"Hard sauce" is a crazy name for what we would today call brandy buttercream

A movie released in 2011 would have started production in the wake of the GFC. If the pattern is real then maybe it's because they all had big problems with backers falling through.

If you ever want the opposite (to be aroused by coffee without drinking it), try Kopiko candies. I can't stop eating whole bags of them.

Yeah, it's one of the only bagged salty snacks that I can't finish off in one sitting. It's a lot. I end up satisfying that craving with pretzels instead because I don't have the fortitude for a bag of sticks.

There's already a lot of research on the harms being done to brains, especially of kids. The damage to society is only just emerging as we see the falling birth rate, increasing isolation, worsening mental health, etc. Gen Alpha is the first generation with no memory of a life before screens.

The problem is that almost everything accessible via phones is designed to pull us in deeper. Once you start giving apps more attention, it's neurologically hard to go back, and it only gets worse over time. People scroll on their phones in nature for the same reason smokers light a cig in nature.
