Only two players in the Premier League (Haaland and Mateta) have taken more shots this season than Eberechi Eze. He averages more shots per 90 than most elite strikers and significantly more than anyone else on Arsenal.

Eze, just what Arsenal needed. www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/...

Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber had as many touches in the Tottenham penalty area (four) as Tottenham had in the Arsenal penalty area (four)

Three banners in the stands as the Etihad hums to chants of “We’ve got Guardiola”

I would estimate around 40 people have gathered outside the Etihad Stadium to protest UAE involvement in the conflict in Sudan.

A few too many final third flicks in areas of the pitch that really aren't the final third

Declan Rice now has as many PL and UCL assists since joining Arsenal as Martin Odegaard (22). He is only three behind Bukayo Saka.

He has played a lot more minutes than either (nearly 1800 over Odegaard) but what development this has been from Rice.

The one shot Leicester had in February 2023 might just be the closest we ever get. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, the history you could have made if you'd done the smart thing and cycled it wide to Harvey Barnes.

Good memory, there was a game at Leicester in 2023 where this was their only shot.

Mikel Arteta isn't the only one applying lessons from other sports in pursuit of marginal gains. Mikel Merino's been learning how to use his hands more effectively.

That and more in this week's big UCL preview www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/...

Since Gabriel Magalhaes arrived in the Premier League he has more goal contributions from corners (17) than Leicester City (16).

No wonder Raya is so good at those scrambling saves. Just caught the end of a mini-session on them. It’s very impressive.

Bukayo Saka has 11 Champions League goal in 19 games. Six assists in that time by the way.

Saka now level with Robert Pires for Arsenal UCL goals. It took Pires 63 games. (This is not Bobby P slander, I promise. I would never.)

24 more to match Thierry Henry.

In this week's UCL preview I went graphics mad on Arsenal's left eight. Or should that be left six? Games like Olympiacos will tell us how much of the midfield change (which Rice delivered excellently) is borne out of need vs. desire. www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/...

William Saliba signs his five year contract with Arsenal. The best young centre back in the sport commits his prime years to north London.

"I feel at home. We have a good team, we have a good squad, we have good staff. The coach is perfect for me, so it's the best place to be."

Couldn’t miss the Premier League’s xG leaders coming to town. It’s the table every team wants to top.

Earlier in the press conference Arteta had acknowledged that it hadn't been the easiest start for him and Saliba. I asked him about the pride he took in dealing with that and in a player committing to the Arsenal cause amid Real Madrid interest.
